Thursday, 14 January, 2010 | Supplied by: Treotham Automation Pty Ltd

The Automation Plant and Equipment Risk Assessment Service is a risk assessment and harm minimisation process to ensure plant and equipment is compliant with regulations and safe to operate.

A plant assessment report provides an overview of the current safety status of production equipment. Engineers undertake on-site examinations of plant and equipment, including analysis of primary hazards, evaluation of existing risk reduction principles and checks on machine compliance with current regulations. A priority list is provided, outlining the hierarchy of risks on the production floor.

A risk assessment report identifies hazards, evaluates risks and provides risk-control recommendations complying with AS4024.1-2006 and OHS regulations.

A safety design service ensures systems are compliant in every way and includes safety requirement specifications, detailed electrical, mechanical, software and control system design and component selection.

Validation Analysis assesses existing design against safety requirements, evaluates selected components and tests safety-related hardware and software to ensure compliance to AS4024.1502-2006.

The service is undertaken by technically qualified personnel who hold engineering qualifications, are chartered professional members of the Institute of Engineers Australia, have over 10 years’ experience in machine safety and hold full appropriate indemnity insurance cover.
