Safety plan assessor training

The WorkSafe Plan assessor course is a three-day training program accredited by WorkSafe WA for WorkSafe Plan Assessor certification.

WA OHS legislation requires every employer to develop an effective safety management system, so WorkSafe WA introduced the WorkSafe Plan to assist organisations to develop such a system (and associated good practices) to continue to reduce the risk of injury in the workplace.

The training course is designed for management personnel who wish to conduct assessments for the WorkSafe Plan — a structured system of assessment which rates OHS management systems and recognises good performance. It is a repeatable assessment, which can be used to develop OSH improvement priorities and to regularly check progress.

On successful completion of the course, attendees will be authorised to plan and conduct an initial WorkSafe Plan assessment under the guidance of a Senior WorkSafe Plan Assessor for submission to WorkSafe WA. Following that, they can then plan and conduct two additional WorkSafe Plan assessments for submission to WorkSafe WA in order to be formally assessed and approved as a WorkSafe Plan assessor.
