ATTAR non-destructive testing (NDT) training courses for conveyor belts

Tuesday, 27 March, 2012 | Supplied by: ATTAR

Periodic testing of conveyor belts during their service life is an important aspect of safety and economy by preventing failure and determining remaining service life. Measuring the depth of textile and steel reinforcements in rubber conveyor belts and measuring the remaining rubber thickness of in-service belts is possible with ultrasonic testing, but it requires specific knowledge and skills for probe selection, technique and interpretation.

At Safety in Action, the ATTAR stand will showcase non-destructive testing (NDT) training courses, including specialised courses such as ultrasonics for conveyor belts. ATTAR provides a three-day course either from its own training facility or on site, and caters for students who may have had no or limited ultrasonics measurement experience.

Visitors to the stand should also ask about root cause failure analysis, another of ATTAR’s range of engineering services.
