Tennant to expand its direct business into NZ

Wednesday, 15 July, 2009

Tennant Company recently announced that it will expand its direct business with a New Zealand branch, which will open in September 2009.

Tennant operates directly in 15 countries and in over 80 countries through distributors providing parts, service, sales and customer support. This model will be further deployed in the New Zealand market.

Southern Hospitality, which acquired the Tennant distributor Kleentech New Zealand in 2007, announced a change in direction that will mean divesting from its Kleentech operations to focus on its core business of hospitality. Until 31 August 2009, Kleentech will continue to service its Tennant customers with sales, service, parts and technical support, but as of 1 September, Tennant will open its doors directly to the public in New Zealand.

Tennant has already begun to recruit a larger team; however, it is anticipated that a number of existing staff from Kleentech’s Floor Care division will join the Tennant New Zealand direct operation.
