Registrations open for Safe Work Month 2022

WorkSafe WA, part of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, is committed to supporting health and safe workplaces for the WA community, industry and the resources sector, by celebrating Safe Work Month in October. To mark the event, WorkSafe will highlight the ways that employers and workers can develop and maintain healthy and safe workplaces.

This year’s Safe Work Month will feature on-demand videos, podcasts and live webinars with a focus on health and safety for both the mining and petroleum industries and general workplaces. The theme — “WHS – think physical, think psychological” — will serve as a reminder that under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws psychosocial is as important as physical. Health and safety representatives, managers, supervisors, safety professionals and workers in all industry sectors are encouraged to register.

Workers and employers can get involved by registering for WorkSafe’s free virtual events taking place throughout October. By registering, workers and employers will have 24/7 access to free on-demand videos and podcasts with a focus on health and safety. Workers and employers in all industry sectors can also get involved by registering to participate in live webinars, using the Safe Work Month campaign kit to promote their support of Safe Work Month in the workplace, and by attending the Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards ceremony recognising outstanding solutions and innovations to specific workplace health and safety problems in Western Australia.
