Comcare WHS Award nominations now open
Workplaces are invited to submit nominations for the 2018 Comcare Work Health and Safety Awards.
The biennial awards recognise excellence and showcase achievements and leadership in workplace health and safety, recovery at and return to work.
The 2018 categories support the theme for the Comcare National Conference — Fit for the Future: Collaborate | Innovate | Achieve — reflected in the updated assessment criteria.
Comcare Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Taylor said it was important to recognise organisations and individuals who go above and beyond to minimise harm and return employees to good work and good health.
“These awards showcase leadership and innovation that has delivered outstanding results in safety and rehabilitation,” Taylor said.
“Comcare is a diverse scheme with a variety of occupation and risk profiles. The awards are an opportunity to share different approaches that are making workplaces safer and healthier.”
2018 award categories include:
- Prevention: Ensuring workplaces provide a healthy and safe environment for employees by addressing the physical and/or psychosocial risk factors to prevent incidents from occurring.
- Early Intervention: Proactively supporting employees to manage and prevent further harm following an incident.
- Recovery at and Return to Work: Excellence in recovery at and return to work programs/systems for ill or injured employees.
- Individual Contribution: Making an exceptional difference to a workplace.
Nominations close on Friday, 4 May 2018 and should reflect activities above and beyond best practice, highlighting success in collaboration, innovation and achievement.
