ACT winners announced
The winners of the ACT OHS Awards were announced last night at a presentation by Industrial Relations minister Andrew Barr.
The awards were established to encourage public and private workplaces in the ACT to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives to create a safe workplace environment.
"The OHS Awards attracted a record number of 30 entries this year from a range of organisations reflecting the diversity of our regional economy and business community " with entries from private companies, not-for-profit organisations, unions and government agencies," ACT WorkCover Commissioner, Erich Janssen said.
"Each award winner has demonstrated a strong commitment to consultation with staff on safety issues, provided leadership from the top, and rigorously applied risk management principles " all the elements of successful safety innovation."
The overall winner of the OHS excellence award Morshead home, a not-for-profit aged care facility for military veterans. This award was chosen from all of the category winners.
