2014 APCOA Public Safety Awards winners
The 2014 APCO Australasia Public Safety Award winners were announced at the APCO Australasia Gala Dinner, 30 April 2014 at Crown Palladium. The awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of public safety professionals.
The 2014 APCO Australasia Communications Award was presented to ESTA for outstanding dedication and implementation of emergency communication.
Sponsored by Motorola Solutions, the award acknowledges those who have had a direct impact on the resolution of incident through effective communication or made a substantial contribution resulting in the improvement of agency communications.
The 2014 Young Innovation Award was presented to Ryan Rosenbaum, Surf Life Saving NSW, for outstanding innovation and development of a new survival device.
Also sponsored by Motorola Solutions, the award acknowledges and rewards students who have demonstrated an innovative design improving public safety, encouraging them to improve their potential, meet prospective employers and share their innovative ideas to an international audience.
The 2014 Public Safety Award was presented to the Department of Health for outstanding commitment in prevention initiatives of community safety.
The award is sponsored by Telstra and recognises the outstanding dedication of a person or combined team who has performed selflessly or heroically in an emergency response situation and has gone beyond the call of duty.
The 2014 Emergency Management Resilience Award was presented to Virginia Enticott, Surf Coast Shire Council, for outstanding commitment and development of promoting community risk awareness.
The award was sponsored by Optus Satellite, and acknowledges those who have had a direct impact on the resolution of an incident through effective communication or made a substantial contribution resulting in the improvement of agency communications.
