The Sydney Safety Show offers industry professionals an opportunity to find the latest OHS products, services and ideas, and gives them a chance to see hundreds of new and innovative ways to improve workplace performance. It also enables visitors to keep up to date with new developments in OHS from the broad range of specialists.
Whether you are looking for latest products or technology in the occupational health and safety (OHS) segment or are keen to get some last-minute tips on the harmonised workplace safety laws, The Safety Show Sydney, is the place to be. New OHS products, safety technology and safety-related services will be the key focus of this year’s Safety Show, which runs concurrently with the Sydney Materials Handling Show and Bulkex Trade Show, at Sydney Olympic Park. These three shows, starting 25 October, are coming together for the first time in Sydney.
A total of around 300 companies from different industry segments such as OHS technology, construction, height safety, drug testing, safety footwear and others will be exhibiting at the show, which is expected to attract around 9000-10,000 visitors.
Pathtech, an Australian scientific consumables and equipment company, will be showcasing the Securetec DrugWipe saliva drug detection device that provides an efficient, reliable and rapid test with the added benefit of portability on-site and a visible result within 10 minutes. The company’s latest product, DrugWipe 6S, can screen for benzodiazepines. All state police jurisdictions use the system for roadside screening of illicit drug groups including cannabis, amphetamines, methamphetamine, cocaine and opiates.
Additionally, a number of height safety companies will also be exhibiting their products. Safety Link, an Australian-owned manufacturer of height safety products, will launch a new temporary anchor, FrogLink, that can attach to a metal roof or tile roof where no permanent anchoring systems are available. FrogLink is designed to attach to all metal profiles with a single row of attachment holes, making for fast, simple installation and reducing the load back onto the structure and person attached to the anchor from 25.76 to 3.2 kN. TileLink is the anchor for tile and slate roofs, and is fixed by screwing five 12-gauge, 50 mm roofing screws through the TileLink’s existing holes. Five alternative fixing rows enable the TileLink to be positioned to suit the pattern of the roof tile. Both products are tested and manufactured to AS/NZS standards. Other exhibitors include Diplomat Blades, Gallay Medical & Scientific, Teldio, Savv-e Express, Powersafe, Ugly Fish, Lifestyles Industries and Enware.
Another safety-related event will be The Safety Conference, presented by the Safety Institute of Australia (NSW Division) and sponsored by WorkCover NSW. The Safety Conference will feature over 50 acclaimed Australian and international speakers in a three-day program providing insight on OHS policy, best practice and harmonisation.
The co-located Sydney Materials Handling show will feature the latest materials handling products, logistics and supply chain solutions. It is expected to attract more than 9000 visitors including warehouse and operations managers, logistics and procurement managers, site managers, maintenance managers, production managers, forklift operators, foremen, plant managers, union representatives and dispatch managers.
Bulkex will showcase the latest innovative products, services and solutions for different industries including: metals and minerals; engineering consultants and suppliers; foods; agricultural; ports, storage and loading facilities; cement, concrete, bricks; chemicals; smelting, refining and pharmaceuticals amongst others.
